The Calista Corporation, Inc. in Anchorage will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $50,000. This capacity building grant will enhance its organizational capacity by providing staff support and training. In-kind leveraging resources from the Calista Elders Council total $40,000 in support of this project.

The Native Village of Kotzebue will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $240,000. This capacity building grant will assist in establishing a for-profit subsidiary to be known as Nunavik, LLC. The company will own and operate an Expanded Polystyrene manufacturing plan to manufacture and sell Structural Insulated Panels for residential/commercial and polystyrene boards for civil applications. NVK will also provide training in using Structural Insulated Panels for construction to Alaska Natives from each village in the Northwest Arctic Borough where the plant's products are to be used. The project will create 25, both year round and permanent seasonal, jobs in Kotzebue as well as a steadily growing number of temporary seasonal jobs in other communities. Leveraging resources from the Kikitagruk Inupiat Corporation total $750,000. The Kikitagruk Inupiat Corporation is a partner for this project.

The Oagan Taygungin Tribe of Sand Point will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $97,643. This seed support grant will provide up front funds to acquire the equipment for start up costs for a business enterprise. The start up is an ice making business to be located in Sand Point, AK. Leveraging resources for this project total $69,001.

Tatitlek IRA Council in Tatitlek will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $50,000. This capacity building grant will assist the Council in preparing comprehensive training for staff to better serve their community. Key partners include: North Pacific Rim Housing Authority, Chenega Bay IRA Council, Port Graham IRA Council, Nanwalek (English Bay) Village Council, Valdez Native Tribe, Eyak Tribal Council and Quteckak Native Tribe. Leveraging resources total $6,200 for this project.
