Family Self-Sufficiency Program Grants 2000


CONNECTICUT

State of Connecticut Department of Social Services --- $40,190

The Department of Social Services is required to enroll 150 families in the FSS program of the approximately 3000 that are receiving Section 8 vouchers. Presently, 70 Section 8 participants are enrolled in the program. This funding will allow the agency to hire an FSS Program Coordinator for a year. The FSS Program Coordinator's function is to help assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency.

Bridgeport Housing Authority --- $39,000

The Bridgeport Housing Authority has reported that there are 25 families currently participating in the agency's Section 8 FSS program. This funding will allow the agency to hire an FSS Program Coordinator for a year. The FSS Program Coordinator's function is to help assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency.
