FLORIDA

Ocala Housing Authority --- $45,220

The Ocala Housing Authority's Section 8 FSS Program Coordinator will be responsible for the administrative work involved in supervising the overall management of the FSS program for the 52 families currently enrolled in the program.

Hialeah Housing Authority --- $19,406

There are 110 families participating in the Housing Authorities FSS Program. The Section 8 FSS Program Coordinator will be responsible for soliciting Family Self-Sufficiency participants from participating Section 8 families; developing and action plan for each participating family; providing follow-up counseling tailored to the needs of each participant; developing and maintaining a list of community and social services agencies where assistance can be obtained in relation to individual or family problems beyond the scope of the program, and shall make appropriate referrals; developing and maintaining a working relationship with community agencies, educational institutions and potential employers; responsible for explaining the FSS escrow account for a participating family; perform any other related duties assigned. Families will be assisted in overcoming many personal and socioeconomic barriers in meeting their objectives. Participants will be counseled, mentored, assessed, enrolled in the training, along with other necessary programs to bring homeownership into fruition.

Lee County Housing Authority --- $23,500

The Housing Authority has 10 families participating in the FSS Program. The Section 8 FSS Program Coordinator develops, arranges and provides habilitative or rehabilitative counseling and direct support services such as family planning, medical exams, remedial medical services, homemaker services, home management, employment and training services, functional educational services and transportation for Work Incentive Program participants. Interviews clients who wish information on emergency services, other than life threatening or involving the placement of children, on a one-time basis; refers these clients to the appropriate resource or arranges for their emergency needs. Provides information and referral services concerning family planning. Locates and develops community resources available to meet client needs.

City of Fort Pierce --- $44,641

The City of Fort Pierce HA has 27 families participating the FSS Program. Under the supervision of the Executive Director and the Director of Administration, the Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all activities and programs related to the FSS program. The essential job functions are: supervising selection process of FSS participants; completing detailed needs assessments and individual action plans of each FSS participant; negotiating Contracts of Participation with FSS families; gathering information on courses offered at area schools and making this information available to FSS families; coordinating with Education & Training Organizations to provide assessment and financial help for further education of FSS participants; coordinating funding sources from local job training organizations for FSS participants; design, implement and schedule life skills training classes; work closely with area service providers to address needs of FSS families; perform regular progress reviews of FSS families; prepare various documents and reports for FSS coordinating committee; maintain files and records for FSS program.

City of Tampa --- $46,350

The HA has 79 families participating in the FSS Program. The program is designed to help families achieve economic independence. The Section 8 FSS Coordinator is responsible for educating our families, staff and the general public about FSS, obtaining information and resources that would be pertinent to the advancement of each particular family and maintaining the escrow accounts. Each family will be individually assessed by staff and have a tailored made plan designed for them. During these duties the overall success of the family is the objective. The Section 8 FSS Coordinator will monitor the contract for compliance and see if adjusting the contract is in the best interest of the family. The Section 8 FSS Coordinator will directly supervise additional staff, both full-time and part-time.

Miami-Dade Housing Authority --- $46,350

The Housing Authority uses program coordinating committees (PCCs) to assist them to secure resources and implement the FSS program. The PCC is made up of representatives of local government, job training and employment agencies, local welfare agencies, educational institutions, child care providers, nonprofit service providers, and businesses. The FSS coordinator will work with the PCC and with local service providers to assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency. Through case management, the FSS program coordinator will ensure that the services included in participants' contracts of participation are provided on a regular, ongoing and satisfactory basis, and that participants are fulfilling their responsibilities under the contract.
