The Housing Authority of the County of Fulton (HACF) has instituted a voluntary program of 90 participants. The coordinator works with various agencies to provide needed services to participating families. The coordinator also provides on-going case management to the families.
Housing Authority of the City of Decatur --- $45,007
The Housing Authority of the City of Decatur (HACD) operates a voluntary FSS program with a current enrollment of 7 families. The coordinator works with various agencies to provide needed services to participating families, selects families for participation and provides on-going case management while the families participate in the program.

The Housing Authority uses program coordinating committees (PCCs) to assist them to secure resources and implement the FSS program. The PCC is made up of representatives of local government, job training and employment agencies, local welfare agencies, educational institutions, child care providers, nonprofit service providers, and businesses. The FSS coordinator will work with the PCC and with local service providers to assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency. Through case management, the FSS program coordinator will ensure that the services included in participants' contracts of participation are provided on a regular, ongoing and satisfactory basis, and that participants are fulfilling their responsibilities under the contract.

The FSS Program Coordinator will perform case management and give assistance in moving families toward self-sufficiency. The coordinator will identify local resources for job counseling, training and placement, along with other supportive services. In addition to monitoring contracts of participation, provide supportive services, develop and chair the Program Coordinating Committee (PCC).

The FSS Coordinator will facilitate, counsel and encourage families to participate in moving from public assistance to employment and self-sufficiency. The Coordinator will identify realistic and attainable short and long term goals toward self-sufficiency, develop and maintain cooperation of community services in support of program needs, and prepare confidential and technical documents required for program administration.
Atlanta Housing Authority --- $34,765
This funding will allow the agency to hire an FSS Program Coordinator for a year. The FSS Program Coordinator's function is to help assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency.

The Section 8 FSS Coordinator is responsible for educating our families, staff and the general public about FSS, obtaining information and resources that would be pertinent to the advancement of each particular family and maintaining the escrow accounts. Each family will be individually assessed by staff and have a tailored made plan designed for them. During these duties the overall success of the family is the objective. The Section 8 FSS Coordinator will monitor the contract for compliance and see if adjusting the contract is in the best interest of the family.

The Section 8 FSS Program Coordinator will work closely with local agencies such as community colleges and temporary employment agencies where guidance in educational needs or employment opportunities are offered. The coordinator will do monthly recordings to individual files, maintain an accurate accounting of the escrow funds and record the interest gained on a quarterly basis.
