KANSAS

Atchison Housing Authority --- $ 13,649

In the City of Atchison, Kansas, the HA employs one FSS program coordinator/case management person to recruit from 26 Section 8 families. Thirty-two contracts have been signed to date. The coordinator reaches out to prospective clients during orientation, sending out letters to each new family and at the inspection of the unit. Five clients have succeeded in leaving the program. The FSS program coordinator/case manager administers the program, convenes the PCC committee quarterly, meets with each family coming into the program, setting short- and long-term goals, developing an FSS contract, and working with the family to implement the plan.

Chanute Housing Authority --- $13,963

In the City of Chanute, Kansas, the HA employs one FSS program coordinator/case management person to recruit from 25 Section 8 families. This is the HAs first application for a Section 8 FSS program coordinator, so no contracts have been signed to date. The FSS program coordinator's role will be to reach out to prospective clients during orientation and by sending out letters to each new family. The FSS program coordinator/case manager will administer the program, convene the PCC committee quarterly, meet with each family coming into the program, setting short- and long-term goals, developing an FSS contract, and working with the family to implement the plan.

Wichita Housing Authority --- $46,350

In the City of Wichita, Kansas, the HA employs one FSS program coordinator/case management person to recruit from 1619 Section 8 families. One hundred and twenty-eight (128) contracts have been signed to date. This is the first application for a Section 8 FSS program coordinator from the HA. The coordinator reaches out to prospective clients during orientation, sending out letters to each new family and at the inspection of the unit. Seventy-five clients (75) have succeeded in leaving the program with 50 of those leaving the program buying homes through the CDBG and Home programs. The Section 8 FSS program coordinator/case manager administers the program, convenes the PCC committee quarterly, meets with each family coming into the program, setting short- and long-term goals, developing an FSS contract, and working with the family to implement the plan.
