City of Richmond Section 8 Housing Authority --- $31,468
At the present time there are 58 families enrolled in the Section 8 FSS Program for this housing authority. The primary goal of their FSS Program Coordinator is to provide an opportunity for participants on the Section 8 Program to become economically independent of government assistance programs. The Richmond Section 8 Housing Authority has a designated Section 8 Family Self-Sufficiency Program Coordinator, whose primary objective will be to deliver the one-on-one communication as needed to the families, maintain public relations with the community and establish rapport with various private and non-profit businesses, and coordinate the family needs to aim toward the ultimate goal of complete self-sufficiency. Individual Counseling on a regular basis will be provided to assess progress and provide guidance and direction to meet individual family goals that have been established.
Covington Housing Authority --- $46,350
The total number of families currently enrolled in the housing authority's Section 8 FSS program are 24. The specific program goal is to provide a comprehensive support program that combines housing assistance with appropriate services to help families become self-sufficient and economically independent. The FSS Counselor is responsible for reporting monthly on the following - Number of commitments, Number of Personal Needs Assessments completed, Number of Individual Family Development Plans completed, Number of Contracts of Participation signed, and Breakdown of Components (example: number of participants enrolled in ABE, GED, Literacy, Job Training).
Campbellsville Housing Authority/ Joint Applicant: Bardstown Housing Authority --- $24,206
This is a joint application, with the Campbellsville Housing Authority being the lead applicant that will receive and administer the FSS program coordinator funding. The aggregate number of families presently under the FSS program is 22 (10 families in Campbellsville and 12 families in Bardstown). The goal of these housing authorities' FSS Program Coordinator is to provide an opportunity for participants in the Section 8 Program to become economically self-sufficient of government assistance programs. The coordinator's purpose is to coordinate and assist in the daily activity programs for the residents of the housing authorities' Section 8 Family Self Sufficiency Program. The coordinator's duties will be to promote and implement resident activities and programs for the Section 8 residents. The coordinator will assume additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Director of Human Services/Project Coordinator.
