Jasper County Housing Authority --- $23,522

In the County of Jasper, Missouri, the HA employs one FSS program coordinator/case management person to recruit from 342 Section 8 families. Sixty-four contracts have been signed to date. The coordinator reaches out to prospective clients during orientation, sending out letters to each new family and at the inspection of the unit. Nine clients have succeeded in leaving the program. The coordinator/case manager administers the program, convenes the PCC committee quarterly, meets with each family coming into the program, setting short- and long-term goals, developing an FSS contract, and working with the family to implement the plan.

Independence Housing Authority --- $40,170

In the City of Independence, Missouri, the HA employs one FSS program coordinator/case management person to recruit from 686 Section 8 FSS families. One contract has been signed to date, however, a recent letter sent to 300 Section 8 families produced 100 responses of interest in the program The newly hired Section 8 FSS program coordinator/case manager administers the program, convenes the PCC committee quarterly, meets with each family coming into the program, setting short- and long-term goals, develops an FSS contract, and works with the family to implement the plan.
