MISSISSIPPI

Biloxi Housing Authority --- $20,500

The Biloxi Housing Authority (BHA) located in Harrison County, Mississippi, has 25 Section 8 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) units and has 3 families enrolled in their program. The BHA's FSS program enables residents to become self-sufficient by obtaining the skills necessary to achieve independence through education, training, and employment. The funds awarded through this NOFA will enable the housing authority to hire an FSS coordinator, who will work with the local program coordinating committee and public and private service providers to assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.

Long Beach Housing Authority --- $18,500

The Long Beach Housing Authority (LBHA) located in Harrison County, Mississippi, has 25 Section 8 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) units and has 2 families enrolled in their program. The LBHA's FSS program enables residents to become self-sufficient by obtaining the skills necessary to achieve independence through education, training, and employment. The funds awarded through this NOFA will enable the housing authority to hire an FSS program coordinator, who will work with the local program coordinating committee and public and private service providers to assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.

Mississippi Regional HA No. VI --- $44,269

The Mississippi Regional Housing Authority No. VI (MRHA No. VI) is located in Jackson, Mississippi, and serves 9 counties in west central Mississippi. The MRHA No. VI has 161 Section 8 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) units and has 78 families enrolled in their program. The MRHA No. VI's FSS program enables residents to become self-sufficient by obtaining the skills necessary to achieve independence through education, training, and employment. The funds awarded through this NOFA will enable the housing authority to hire an FSS program coordinator, who will work with the local program coordinating committee and public and private service providers to assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.
