Albuquerque Housing Authority --- $38,501

The Albuquerque Housing Authority currently has 216 families enrolled in the HA's Section 8 FSS Program. The FSS Coordinator is directly responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring activities and reporting FSS program statistics to HUD and to City officials. The Coordinator works very closely with a Coordinating Committee and maintains contact with a large number of service providers while assisting families to develop their Individual Training and Service Plans. Follow-up with the participants is a major part of the program, therefore, the HA offers monthly educational seminars, support groups and counseling. They work very closely with employment providers, educators, and various state and local government agencies. The FSS Program is coordinating all activities with Welfare to Work initiatives as well as Homeownership initiatives of the HA.

Region VI Housing Authority --- $21,112

The Region VI Housing Authority has targeted 25 FSS slots in their HA's Action Plan. Their jurisdiction covers 5 counties in the southeastern part of the state. The program goals include the development of a strong Coordinating Committee throughout the region. The FSS Coordinator will be establishing program activities to include work readiness, education and training, as well as welfare to work initiatives. Participants will be referred to local support service providers for numerous other services and resources.

Region II Housing Authority --- $40,320

The Region II Housing Authority has targeted 25 FSS slots in their HA's Action Plan for Los Alamos County. The HA has received commitments from various organizations, including community based agencies that provide education, child care, employment training, small business development, and supportive services which will serve to provide "coordinated packages" to their participating families.
