Adjuntas Housing Authority --- $17,700

The Housing Authority has 25 Section 8 families currently enrolled in its Section 8 FSS program. The Municipality of Adjuntas herein request approval to retain the services of the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program Coordinator for one year for the Municipality of Adjuntas FSS Program. The Section 8 FSS Program Coordinator works with the community to improve Housing needs in this Municipality located in the interior of the island.

Aguas Buenas Housing Authority --- $17,486

The Municipality of Aguas Buenas has an FSS minimum program size of 25 mandatory FSS slots and currently has 25 Section 8 families enrolled in said program. The FSS Coordinator works with the PCC, and with local service providers to assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency. The Municipality of Aguas Buenas currently administers one of the best FSS programs within Puerto Rico, in that they utilize Section 8 Rental Assistance together with public and private resources, which permit their participating families a greater opportunity to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.

Bayamon Housing Authority --- $17,330

The Housing Authority has 35 families participating in the Section 8 FSS program. The performance of the Section 8 Program Coordinator is extremely important for the program as it has developed into a meaningful program for the participants and has established good community relations. The HA's FSS program has improved and is in process of selecting additional families. Through the coordinated efforts of public and private entities participating and providing support to the FSS program, obstacles to family Self-Sufficiency can be minimized or eliminated. Supportive services provided: Child Care, Technical Assistance, Owners Participation, Transportation, Supplementary Education, Job Development Training and Placement and Housing Counseling Program.

Hormigueros Housing Authority --- $46,350

Community- wide throughout the entire Municipality of Hormigueros, Anasco and San German. Hormigueros lead Co-Applicant. Filing jointly (all within the Mayaguez-SMA). Combined, the Housing Authorities have 28 families participating in the FSS program. The performance of the Section 8 Program Coordinator is extremely important for the program as it has developed into a meaningful program for the participants and has established good community relations.

Isabela Housing Authority --- $12,106.20

The total number of families currently enrolled in the HA's Section 8 FSS Program is 25. The performance of the Section 8 Program Coordinator is extremely important for the program as it has developed into a meaningful program for the participants and has established good community relations. The Municipality of Isabela is working hard providing support to the FSS Program. Supportive Services provided: Proposals for basic and Secondary Education, Proposals for Institutional training for: Pharmacy Assistant and Upholstery. Proposals for job experience for the following positions: Office Clerks, Nurse Aids, Drivers, Laborers, etc. Job training in private sectors: Industries, Fast Foods, etc. And combined activities, such as: Municipal Guards. The Section 8 Program Coordinator will assist in these efforts.
