The Waukesha Housing Authority (WHA) has a partnership with the YWCA of Waukesha to work with Section 8 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) families. Participants will develop their own individual program working one-on-one with the assistance of the case manager. The program will effectively assist the participant to become self-sufficient through the coordination and delivery of existing community services and one-on-one support. Programs and services include child care services, transportation, educational services, job training or placement, life skills training, AODA Services, Medical and Mental Health Services, permanent and emergency housing services (food, clothing), and legal information. The WHA currently has 225 families participating in the program. The Section 8 FSS program coordinator's job is to work with the participant on a individual basis, and help in accessing needed programs and services to help them reach their goals.
