Housing Authority of the City of Beckley --- $22,620

The Housing Authority of the City of Beckley has eight families participating in the FSS program. The Section 8 FSS program coordinator works with local service providers to assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency. The FSS program coordinator may ensure, through case management, that the services included in participants' contracts of participation are provided on a regular, ongoing and satisfactory basis, and that participants are fulfilling their responsibilities under the contracts. The Section 8 FSS program will offer a wide variety of services to address the needs of FSS participants that can be integrated into meaningful assistance for families. The Section 8 FSS program coordinator actively works with public and private service providers to offer quality supportive services which are comprehensive in scope and include combinations of child care, transportation, job training and placement, counseling, education, money management, parenting, and/or rehabilitation services to residents.. The services will be coordinated in their delivery and appropriate in scope to the needs of the residents. The goal is that the participants become employed and self-sufficient.

Housing Authority of the City of Wheeling --- $35,050

The Housing Authority of the City of Wheeling has 18 families participating in the Section 8 FSS program. The Section 8 FSS program coordinator works with local service providers to assure that program participants are linked to the supportive services they need to achieve self-sufficiency. The FSS program coordinator may ensure, through case management, that the services included in participants' contracts of participation are provided on a regular, ongoing and satisfactory basis, and that participants are fulfilling their responsibilities under the contracts. The FSS program will assist families who are dependent on government assistance to become economically independent and self-sufficient. This program will provide the needs and appropriate supportive services to those FSS Program participants. For example: child care, health care needs, housing transportation, career counseling/personal development training, supplementary education, job development/training/placement.
