RURAL HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FY2000 GRANTS

PROJECT SUMMARY

Maryland

The Enterprise Foundation, Inc. in Columbia will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $50,000. This capacity building grant will support the Enterprise New Mexico Native American Program, a local affiliate of the Enterprise Foundation, to facilitate the creation and capitalization of a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) dedicated to providing affordable, culturally-sensitive capital resources and development services to businesses and entrepreneurs on New Mexico's reservations and pueblos. Activities of this project include: staffing, infrastructure, and organizational development. The proposed project will leverage approximately $152,000 in commitments from nonprofit and for-profit organizations and businesses. These entities include: Anasazi Investments and Nordhaus, Halton, Taylor and Frye.
