The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe in Nixon will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $495,291. This innovative activities grant will allow the design, construction, and opening of a 2,000 square foot grocery store and gas station in the tribal community of Nixon. The proposed project will provide the Paiute Tribe with employment opportunities and access to services. The project will serve the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe's Reservation in Washoe County. Cash and in-kind leveraging resources total $63,645 in support of this project. Key participants include: the Tribe's Enterprises Department, the Numaga Senior Center, the Parks and Recreation Department, and the Pyramid Lake Housing Authority.
