PROJECT SUMMARY

New Mexico

The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority in Albuquerque will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $600,000. This innovative activities grant will be used to build 40 homes on rural and Native America tribal land. This project will serve Bernalillo, Sandoval, and Rio Arriba Counties. Leveraging resources total $3,985,576 in support of this project. Key participants include: The Enterprise Foundation, Santa Fe Neighborhood Housing Services, New Mexico Community Development Loan Fund and the Tribal Housing Authorities for Pueblos of San Juan, Santo Domingo and Sandia.

The Community Action Agency of SNM, Inc. in Las Cruces Dona Ana will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $200,000. This seed support grant will support the creation of 100 jobs and training for women to more effectively enter the workplace and skills training for those who prefer self-employment. As a result of this project, guaranteed employment with Mariposas de New Mexico, LLC will be granted. Leveraging resources total $578,482 in support of this project. Key participants include federal and state government, faith-based organizations, and private sources.

Mesilla Valley Economic Development in Las Cruces will receive a Rural Housing and Economic Development Grant in the amount of $200,000. This seed support grant will support the development of an economic development plan for the area in the western portion of Anthony-Berino communities. The plan will address existing infrastructure, growth patterns, and job training. Leveraging resources total $ 220,000 for this project. Key participants include: Dona Ana County, Dona Ana Branch Community College, Mariposa, Colonias Development Council, South Central Council of Governments, Southern New Mexico Community Action Agency, and Terra Del Sol Housing Corporation.
