HUD PUBLISHES DIRECTORY TO ASSIST VETERANS
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said today that the newest edition of its National Veterans Resource Directory is now available for distribution to the public.
The directory contains information by state on all public and private sector resources and services, all of which are designed to help veterans find local resources, housing information for disabled veterans, information on how to apply for VA guaranty loans, and more.
Copies of the free directory can be ordered by calling toll-free 1-800-998-9999.
The directory is a product of HUD’s Veteran Resource Center, or HUDVET. HUDVET was established in 1996 in consultation with national Veteran Service Organizations to provide veterans and their family members with information on HUD and to encourage veterans to become more involved in HUD-sponsored programs dealing with the community planning and decision-making process.
HUDVET has become one of the primary vehicles used to inform veterans and veteran’s advocates about a variety of issues affecting them. In addition to the directory, the HUDVET website -- features comprehensive information on HUD programs as well as information and links to other Federal, State and local veterans' resources.
To find out more about HUD programs to assist veterans, visit the HUDVET website or call 1-800-998-9999 (TDD 1-800-483-2209).
