Denver Housing Authority --- $50,000

The Denver Housing Authority has been awarded a $50,000 One-year Renewable Service Coordinator Grant. The Housing Authority will provide supportive services and activities to the elderly and disabled residents residing in public housing. The Denver Housing Authority's Senior Coordinator for the elderly and persons with disabilities works within the senior/disabled public housing high rises assisting residents in obtaining supportive services that are needed to continue independent living. The Senior Coordinator acts as an advocate for this population as they confront difficult situations. The supportive presence and assistance of the Senior Coordinator helps clients achieve an expressed goal while preserving and promoting determination and autonomy. The Senior Coordinator coordinates and establishes on-site services with other agencies providing services unique to seniors and the disabled.
