"Faces of Homelessness"
Through the Eyes of a Child

The drawings and paintings from the Omaha, Nebraska-/Council Bluffs, Iowa-area homeless children were made possible through contributed art supplies, including paints, pencils, crayons, markers, chalk, glue and paper that were distributed to area homeless and transitional housing shelters. Local newspapers and TV stations provided coverage and promoted the art contest and homelessness awareness. The 2002 "Faces of Homelessness" campaign and the Omaha Continuum of Care has made good use of the art to raise awareness and funds by creating calendars, tote bags, posters, magnets, sport bottles, and note cards featuring the children's original artwork.
