The below fees are in effect for the entire SA-HOC jurisdiction.

  • Inspection Fee: Inspection fees are a maximum of $75.00 per inspection for one unit, plus $10.00 for each additional unit in a duplex, triplex or fourplex. This is both for new construction and repair inspections. Since the lender typical selects the inspector, HUD looks to them to help keep the cost of housing down. The cost for some one to inspect a property to see if a broken window has been replaced should not be as high as a detailed framing construction inspection.
  • Mileage Fee: May be charged for over 30 miles one way, 60 miles round trip. The fee may not exceed the IRS established rate per mile. This applies to inspections on both new and existing construction. For example: The established IRS rate is currently thirty-four & half cents ($.345) per mile, effective as of January 2001. If an inspector travels 100 miles round trip from his place of business, the mileage charged will be 40 miles at $.345/mile for a total mileage fee of $13.80.
  • 203(k) Inspections: The inspection fee for 203(k)s is a maximum of $100.00 per inspection for one unit, plus $25.00 for each additional unit in a duplex, triplex or fourplex.
