Statement by HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge on Senate Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act

WASHINGTON - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Marcia L. Fudge released the following statement after the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act:

"I am pleased that the Senate has passed the Inflation Reduction Act to fight inflation and lower costs for American families, while also advancing our climate goals. This legislation will help families save an average of $500 a year in energy costs while investing $1 billion to make homes more energy efficient and resilient. I am especially pleased that this increased investment will improve affordable housing available to families with low-incomes and to underserved communities. With this historic legislation, we can look forward to a safer and greener future."

The Inflation Reduction Act now heads to the House for consideration.
