Statement by Secretary Fudge on the Passing of Congressman Donald McEachin

I do not use the word friend lightly, but Donald McEachin was my friend. I thank God that he was a friend to so many while he was with us here on Earth. He cared as much for the people he represented as he cared for those he loved.

Most of all, he loved life. He gave us the best of himself while fighting a battle with immense grace and valor.

Though I am heartbroken by his loss, I am blessed to have known him and called him friend.

I will miss him.
