Under the direction and leadership of President Clinton, HUD set a goal to generate 8 million new homebuyers by the year 2000. The progress has been phenomenal: during the Clinton presidency, 5.8 million more families have bought homes, and a record 67.6 million families are homeowners. The following proposals will move America closer to the goal set by President Clinton and Vice President Gore.
